Valley Fig Growers, a fig-grower owned cooperative since 1959 is one of the largest handlers of figs in North America.  ALMADS Enterprise is to be seamlessly adapted to the new commodity, enabling VFG to accurately track their figs throughout the plant as it completes each stage of processing.

California Custom Processing specialise in Almond custom processing including blanching, steam pasteurization, dry roasting, slicing, sliver and flour.

The implementation of ALMADS in CCP’s almond custom processing operations is aimed at streamlining their processes and ensuring food safety traceability. In the first season of using ALMADS (2023), CCP will utilize the office-based version of the system. This version will allow them to enter customer information, manage sales orders, specify custom client requirements, track product throughout the plant, record quality information, and manage shipping back to the clients.

The office-based version of ALMADS will serve as a centralized platform for data management and process control. It will enable CCP to have a comprehensive overview of their operations, ensuring efficient order management and effective tracking of products from start to finish. By capturing and recording data at each processing stage, ALMADS will support quality control efforts and enhance food safety measures.

Furthermore, the integration of ALMADS in Phase 2 will involve the deployment of terminals at each process within the plant for live data capture, offering real-time data, providing accurate and up-to-date information on the status and progress of each product. Live data capture at each process point can further improve process visibility, reduce manual errors, and enhance overall operational efficiency.

The phased approach of implementing ALMADS, starting with the office-based version and later expanding to live data capture terminals, allows CCP to gradually integrate the system into their operations and adapt to the new technology. This approach ensures a smoother transition and provides the opportunity to evaluate and refine the system’s performance as it becomes fully integrated into the processing plant.

Overall, ALMADS will help CCP streamline their almond processing operations, maintain food safety traceability, and enhance process control from the initial sales order to final shipping, while also paving the way for live data capture in subsequent phases.

In 2022, T&P Farms has taken on ALMADS for their Rice Drying/Warehousing facility in addition to having it installed at their almond huller/sheller since 2012.

With the installation of ALMADS for Rice, the facility can now incorporate Paddy Receipts, Drying, and Warehousing modules to streamline their operations and enhance efficiency in the rice processing workflow.

ALMADS is being easily adapted to cater for vine seed, giving T&P the ability to track the various seed commodities that will be received at the facility.  A unique lot number will be assigned to each batch of vine seed received. This Lot # will be tracked throughout the plant from incoming receiving from the fields, through the washing and drying processes, capturing start/stop times and quantities of bins output after each process before being shipped out.

Dunnigan Hills is a new Huller, Sheller with their first season in 2016, taking on all standard modules of ALMADS like Receiving, Production, Shipping and Reporting.

Sran Family Orchards signed on in 2014 to become our 2nd US Almond Processor and we have evolved ALMADS to suit their needs.

ALMADS Rice was developed by Regional IT  starting in 2013 to manage their 13 drying facilities in California and track Grower Inventory, Mill Pools, Shareholder Splits and Daily Position report.  An integral part of this system was linking all 5 scale locations to one system all capturing data live.

North State Hulling joined the ALMADS family in season 2014.  We are continually evolving ALMADS each season to suit their growing and changing needs.

North State Hulling now have the latest upgrade of ALMADS enterprise system which includes management dashboard, cloud solutions and many more features to take advantage of.

Cortez Growers Association had their first season with ALMADS in 2011. Cortez opted to run an office based version of ALMADS in their first season and Regional IT linked into their truck scale. Season 2012 saw the Commodity module being installed and linked with a centralized system with McDougall Trading which Regional IT also developed. A Grower Web portal was also added that uploads validated data to the web for growers to log in and see their own information.  2015 season saw the introduction of terminals out in the plant to further enhance their ALMADS experience and reduce manual handling.  As with most other clients, Cortez have now transitioned over to the ALMADS enterprise version allowing them to take full advantage that the new system can offer them.

4 Corner Growers signed with us for their first season in 2012 to customize the full suite ALMADS HS product to suit their particular needs which also included warehousing rows of processed product to be dispatched from. Again, terminals were installed throughout the plant to capture live data.  In 2013 4 Corners expanded their system to include a Grower Portal website, Commodity Lite integrated module linked with McDougall Trading and also Stockpile Mapping. The 2023 season will see 4 Corners transition over to the new ALMADS offering them even more opportunities to enhance their productivity and efficiency.

Signing in 2014, Johnsons had ALMADS customised to suit their needs for the 2015 season which included Receivables, Runs & Bins, Shipping, Reporting, Warehousing and also included a Dryer module. The 2023 season will see Johnson Farms transition over to the new ALMADS offering them even more opportunities to enhance their productivity and efficiency.

ALMADS Feed Weighing System – Harlan Family Ranch signed on with Regional IT for the ALMADS Feed Weighing system in 2021. This small variation of our ALMADS suite captures weight from the truck scale and generates electronic weight certificates since we are certified by the California Department for Weight and Measures to do so.

After inheriting ALMADS when taking over Mid State Hulling in 2016, RDB have added their own customisation to their ALMADS suite of modules.

Hendersons signed with us for their first season in 2019 to customize the full suite ALMADS HS product to cater for their split operation of Hulling and Shelling.  Terminals were installed throughout the plant to capture live data.  They have worked closely with the Cortina Hulling Group to inherit most of Cortina’s processes but still had some unique items that needed to be catered for.

Mid State Hulling signed on with Regional IT for the ALMADS system in 2010. They have benefited from all the functionality, flexibility and complete features of the ALMADS system. And they have been running the plant on an iPad on a wireless network.

There were a number of features added to this installment to suit Mid State Hulling’s requirements. Some of the biggest were the automatic weight capture and printing of meat bin tags (as opposed the operator instigating each bin) and the Hash proportionate weights by Grower to determine what percentage of a hash weight belongs to each Grower. 2012 saw the addition to track & flag organic product through the plant.

Sierra Valley joined the ALMADS family for seasons 2014-2022 to handle all the hulling and shelling needs.    Sierra Valley already had ALMADS Commodity Lite up and running, and this was integrated into the full ALMADS suite of modules.

Elk Ridge Almonds opted to have ALMADS customised to suit their needs starting season 2015 including receivables, QA, Warehousing, Marketing & Orders, Grading & Picking, Sizing and Shipping.
